Robert M. Winter, CPA, (Retired) is a Legacy Partner with a rich history of providing exemplary client focused service through trusted relationships for over 50 years. Robert began his professional career in 1963 in the Little Rock office of the international CPA firm Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (“PMM” now KPMG). In 1973, along with 2 other PMM managers, Robert founded our firm- which was first known as Rasco, Burris & Winter. Over the years the firm grew to become Rasco Winter Abston and Moore, LLP which then merged with L. Cotton Thomas & Company in 2018 to become Rasco Winter Thomas, LLP. Robert served the firm as a mentor through many years of growth, which he attributed to his trusted relationships earned from a commitment to exemplary service focused on client success. This is a foundational value of the firm carried throughout all practice areas to this day.
During Robert’s career in public accounting, he provided tax, accounting and systems counseling to a variety of business entities including several not-for-profit organizations and government-assisted entities.
Robert was raised in Jonesboro and graduated from Subiaco Academy, Subiaco, Arkansas. He received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Arkansas State University in 1962 and his MBA from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1963. Robert and Sue Beth married in 1962, have 2 married daughters and 5 grandchildren.
Robert’s commitment to Arkansas communities through philanthropic support has also been a pillar of the firms’ values from its earliest years. Throughout his 50-year career, Robert has been involved in numerous civic, professional and church activities.
