Michael C. Schaufele, CPA, “Mike” as he is personally known, is a Legacy Partner having been with L. Cotton Thomas & Co. for over 40 years and served as President prior to the merger with Rasco Winter Abston and Moore in 2018, which became Rasco Winter Thomas, LLP. Mike is currently of counsel for the firm, with a primary focus in the tax department.
Mike built a significant level of trust with clients because of his client-centered approach. Given his keen ability to communicate with clients and listen to their priorities beyond the tax issues at hand, Mike offers both individuals and businesses a perspective with over 50 years’ experience as a tax professional in public accounting. Mike provides invaluable resource counsel to the firm in a wide array of technical accounting, tax, financial, as well as estate and trust transaction guidance. Of counsel, Mike not only has been serving his long-standing clients but also assists and mentors staff in the firm’s tax practices.
Mike was born and raised in Little Rock and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1971, earning Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Accounting. Mike and his late wife of 49 years, Marty, have called Little Rock home most of their lives where they raised their 2 daughters, Janet and Ann Blair, their youngest of which has benefitted greatly from the services offered by Easter Seals. Easter Seals Arkansas is a cornerstone of support for families and children facing special needs, developmental delays, and disabilities. For this reason, Mike and Marty have been longtime supporters of the Easter Seals organization, not only within the state of Arkansas but nationally as well.
